Stolen car torched at Penfield

Police and fire crews were called to Andrews Road and Petherton Road, Penfield about 10.30pm on Saturday 22 June by reports of a loud explosion and car fire.

The car parked on the side of the road was completely engulfed in flames when emergency crews arrived.

The grey Hyundai SUV had been stolen from a Davoren Park address sometime earlier in the evening.

Crime scene investigators attended and examined the scene.
