A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a motorbike from the CBD yesterday afternoon.

About 2.30pm Wednesday 12 June, a man reported that his KTM motorcycle was stolen from Kintore Ave, Adelaide. Luckily the owner had tracking attached to the motorcycle and was able to provide police with updates on its location as it headed into the northern suburbs.

Police also received several reports from the public about a rider with no helmet on a travelling at speed along Main North Road on a silver KTM motorcycle.

PolAir tracked the motorcycle as it turned off Main North Road onto Yorktown Road and then Midway Road.

The rider stopped at a home on Midlow Road, Elizabeth Downs where he attempted to conceal the stolen bike in a rear shed. Northern District patrols swarmed the home and arrested the rider without incident.

A 15-year-old boy from Mansfield Park was arrested and charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle and driving unlicenced.  He was granted police bail to appear in Elizabeth Youth Court on 26 July.
