12 Nov 2024 7:00am

A teenager has been arrested after he allegedly entered a bottle shop armed with a knife and stole a till containing money.

Just before 9pm on Monday 11 November, patrols were called to Main North Road at Brahma Lodge after a person entered a bottle shop armed with a Stanley knife.  Police will allege he threatened a staff member and attempted to assault them before jumping over the counter and stealing the till containing cash.

The staff member was not physically injured as a result of the incident.

A witness spotted the man run over Main North Road where he stopped to break into the cash drawer.

Northern District patrols were quickly on scene and spotted the teen. A foot chase ensued, and the youth was arrested on Iveleary Avenue without incident.

The 17-year-old from Salisbury North has been charged with robbery, he did not apply for bail and will appear before the Adelaide Youth Court today (Tuesday 12 November).
