30 Mar 2025 6:34am

Two teenagers were arrested after allegedly being caught on a construction site at Mawson Lakes last night.

Police were called to a site at the corner of Metro Parade and Capital Street, Mawson Lakes about 10.30pm on Saturday 29 March by reports of two people on the premises.  There was also a report of smoke coming from the building.

The site is closed off by temporary fencing.

Police quickly attended and searched the construction site with the assistance of Police Dog Jax, who located two suspects wearing face masks.

The two teenage boys, aged 14 and 18, were both arrested and charged with being unlawfully on premises, carry an article of disguise and unlawful possession.  They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 9 May and Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 6 May.

There was no smoke or fire at the site; it will be alleged the pair set off fire extinguishers, which looked like clouds of smoke.
