Three sought in Mawson Lakes theft

Police are searching for three men following a theft at Mawson Lakes early this morning.

Just before 1am on Tuesday 18 October, a resident of Heron Walk was returning home when he spotted two youths near his motor vehicle parked on the driveway.

The resident shouted at the youths who walked away and were collected by a third man on motorbike.

The trio then returned on the motorbike. They approached the victim and punched him in the face causing him to drop his keys and phone.

Two of the youths grabbed the keys and stole a red Mazda sedan from the driveway SA registration S009COH and a black Mazda sedan SA registration S413BRK which was parked on the road.

The vehicles and were last seen heading south on Gannet Street. The third man escaped on the BMW motorbike SA registration S87AYE which had been reported stolen on 5 October from Burnside.

The victim received a minor facial injury and did not require medical treatment.

Police were quickly on scene but have not located the suspects or the motor vehicles.

The suspects are described as aged 18-20-years, Caucasian appearance, all wearing face masks, hoodies and dark clothing.
