Trio arrested after firearm located Munno Para West

Northern District police have arrested three people after discovering a loaded firearm in a vehicle at Munno Para West this morning.

About 11.40am on Monday 3 March, police stopped a man at a business on Curtis Road after recognising him as being wanted on an outstanding matter.

Police had cause to search his car with officers locating a loaded firearm along with a quantity of GHB. The three occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested.

A 32-year-old man from Elizabeth South, a 29-year-old man from Flinders Park and a 29-year-old woman from Coober Pedy were all charged with aggravated possess firearm without a licence (loaded), possess ammunition without a licence, traffic a controlled drug, possession of a prohibited weapon and theft.

The 32-year-old man was further charged with breaching a firearms prohibition order.

All three have been refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
