Trio arrested for copper theft at Munno Para

At 4.10am on Thursday 27 March police were called to Coventry Road after reports of people acting suspiciously near an electrical pit.

Police were quickly on scene and found the trio sat in a nearby station wagon and copper cabling piled beside the car.

The trio, a man 43-years, a woman 35 years from Elizabeth Downs and a 43-year-old woman from Elizabeth Park were all arrested and have been charged with theft, damage and breach of bail.

The man and woman from Elizabeth Downs have been refused bail and will attend Elizabeth Magistrates Court this morning.

The second woman has been bailed to the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 8 May.
