Two men have been arrested after being found in possession of weapons and balaclavas.

Just after 2.30am this morning (Thursday 6 March), police were called to The Boulevard, Parafield Gardens, after reports of two men in the front yard of a house acting suspiciously.

Upon arrival, police located two men, who were walking away from the house towards Field Street. Police stopped both men who at the time were wearing balaclavas. The men were searched, and one was found to be in possession of an axe, the other a hammer.

As a result, a 29-year-old man from no fixed place, and a 40-year-old man from Mansfield Park were arrested.

Both men were charged with being unlawfully on premises, carrying an offensive weapon and carrying an article of disguise. They have both been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
