Arrest over suspicious behaviour at Sturt

A man has been arrested after acting suspiciously in the Sturt area yesterday.

Just before 1am Sunday 2 June Southern District police were called to Duncan Street after a man had been seen entering front yards and acting suspiciously.

Police with the assistance of police dog PD Enzo attended and searched the area. No suspects were located at this time but police found number of cars that had been broken in to and dumped computer equipment, a small quantity of illicit drugs and graffiti implements.

Following an investigation police attended a Sturt home and arrested a 34-year-old man. He was charged with serious criminal trespass of a non-residential building, theft, property damage, breach of bail, drug possession and illegal interference. He did not apply for bail and appeared in Court today, Monday 3 June.

The computing equipment was later found to have been stolen from a local Council building.
