Car and shed destroyed by fire

About 11.45pm Thursday 26 December, emergency services responded to reports of a shed fire at a James Street residence.

Attending crews found a shed well alight in the rear yard of the property and neighbouring properties were evacuated. Fortunately, fire crews were able to prevent the fire spreading to other properties but the shed and a vehicle inside the shed were destroyed.

The house was vacant at the time.

Police believe the fire may be suspicious and Crime Scene Investigators will attend the property later today.
