Drink driver crash Clarendon

17 Dec 2024 6:49am

A man is set to lose his licence after fleeing the scene of a crash in Clarendon last night.

About 10.30pm Monday 16 December police were called to Grants Gully Road after reports that a small Isuzu truck had rolled.

When police arrived they found the truck on it’s side, but no driver. Witnesses were able to provide a detailed description of a man they had seen crawling out of the wreck and fleeing the scene on foot.

Following an investigation, police attended a nearby Clarendon home where they located a 46-year-old NSW man. He was breath tested allegedly returning a positive result of 0.040. Checks also revealed he only held a P licence.

He received an expiation for drink driving in a prescribed vehicle and breaching P licence conditions. It is expected he will lose his licence in the coming months.

The truck was towed from the scene.
