Drink driver loses licence

Just after 10pm last night Tuesday 18 February, police stopped a Mazda sedan on Diagonal Road for the purpose of a driver test.

The driver, a 39-year-old man from Seacombe Gardens, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.211- more than four times the legal limit.

He was reported for drink driving and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

He was issued with a 12-month immediate loss of licence, and his car was impounded for 28 days.
