Drug arrests at Brighton

Two men have been arrested for drug trafficking at Brighton last night.

About 11.45pm on Thursday 14 November, police were patrolling in St Marys when they saw two men acting suspiciously in a Honda sedan.

The Honda drove off after seeing police but was tracked by PolAir to where it stopped in Keelara Street, Brighton. Two men walked off from the car but officers located both occupants and conducted a search of the car.

Police found quantities of cannabis, methamphetamine and GBH, along with other drug paraphernalia.

A 43-year-old man from Gilles Plains and a 45-year-old man from Sturt were charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug, possessing a prescription drug and unlawful possession.

The 43-year-old man was further charged with failing to stop for police and driving unlicenced. Both men were refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
