House fire at Edwardstown

Emergency services raced to Castle Street after flames were reported to be coming from the property just before 3pm this afternoon Wednesday 16 April.

When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, occupants who were at home at the time did not receive any injuries.

Fire crews continue to battle the blaze with MFS preventing the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.

Southern District CIB have arrested a 70-year-old man from Edwardstown in relation to the fire.

Fire cause investigators and CIB will attend the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
