Image of assault suspect released at Mitchell Park

About 10am on Thursday 13 March, a man was walking along David Avenue when he was assaulted by a man with a hockey stick. The suspect was standing on the footpath in company with a woman at the time.

The victim sustained a fractured eye socket and cuts to his head. He was taken to hospital and required surgery.

The suspect rode off on a mountain bike with the woman following on foot.

The suspect is described as being of Aboriginal appearance and wearing dark clothing. The woman was also described as being of Aboriginal appearance.

Southern District Police have released an image of the suspect in a bid to identify him.
