Intruder arrested in Mitchell Park

A man has been arrested after a Mitchell Park homeowner found intruders in their back yard.

Just after 2.30am on Sunday 10 November, police were called to Lynton Avenue after a resident reported seeing two males with torches in the back yard.

Police quickly responded and were on Bradley Grove when they spotted a man walking off. Officers attempted to speak with the man but he immediately ran off. Police followed the man and chased him on foot through a nearby construction site. He was found a few minutes later hiding in a bush along the railway line.

A 34-year-old man from Micthell Park was arrested for being unlawfully on premises, fail to provide details and hinder police. He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 2 January 2025.
