Man arrested after trying to scoot away from police

30 Jan 2025 7:04am

A man has been arrested after drugs were found at Morphett Vale.

It will be alleged that about 12.26am today (Thursday 30 January), police saw a man riding an electric scooter without a helmet. There were also no lights on the scooter.

Officers called out to the man to stop so they could speak to him, but he continued travelling west on Flaxmill Road then turned left on to Kenneth Road, before turning left on to Germaine Street where he dumped the scooter and ran away.

Police caught up to the man after a brief foot pursuit.

A search of the man’s bags uncovered various amounts of drugs including methamphetamine, ecstasy and fantasy, along with cash, scales and deal bags.

The 45-year-old Seaford Rise man was charged with drug offences, failing to stop for police and failing to wear a helmet on a wheeled recreational device.

He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
