Man arrested for arson at Hackham

A man has been arrested following a fire at Hackham last night.

Police were called to a home on Lea Street about 10.50pm on Sunday 16 June after reports of a fire on the front porch of the property.

The fire caused minor damage and was extinguished by the homeowner before firefighters arrived.

A short time later, police located a man on Doctors Road with burns to his body and clothing. He was taken to hospital for treatment of serious burns.

A 25-year-old Morphett Vale man was subsequently arrested for arson and currently remains in hospital.
