Man arrested in Seacliff

Police arrest a man in Seacliff believed to be in possession of two stolen bikes.

Just before 5am this morning (Wednesday 26 February), police stopped and spoke with a man walking with two bikes on the Esplanade, Seacliff.

Police had a conversation with the man and searched his backpack locating bolt cutters, tin snips and a pair of pliers.

The 38-year-old man from Oaklands Park was arrested and charged with unlawful possession and possess article to commit an offence.

The man was bailed and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on the 24 March.

The investigation is ongoing with police seeking information to identify the owners of the bikes.
