Man arrested over threats

A man has been arrested for attempting to dissuade a victim in a judicial proceeding.

Police will allege on Thursday 14 December, that a man has approached the victim involved in criminal proceedings and made threats towards the victim to drop the charges.

Upon receiving the information, Southern District Detectives attended at a Morphett Vale address and arrested a 37-year-old man and charged him with threaten person in judicial proceedings to influence outcome.

The man was refused bail and appeared in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Allan Grimwood from Southern District CIB states, “This is a very serious offence carrying a penalty of up to 10 years' imprisonment.

Police would like to remind anyone who makes threats to subvert criminal justice that positive action will be taken against any offenders”.
