Man arrested with stolen trailer and tools at Whites Valley

12 Mar 2025 7:27am

A man has been arrested after a break-in at Melrose Park.

It will be alleged that about 7.20am on Monday 10 March, police attended a property at Hampshire Way, Whites Valley after reports that a white Ford Ranger ute had crashed through a gate.

The ute was towing a trailer which also had tools and electrical equipment inside it, which police suspected was stolen.

Checks revealed the trailer and a majority of the items had been stolen from a business at Melrose Park earlier that morning.

The driver of the ute, a 50-year-old Highbury man was taken to hospital as he appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

On Tuesday 11 March, the man was arrested and charged with numerous offences including serious criminal trespass, theft and illegal interference of a motor vehicle.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 12 March).
