Man charged over damage spree in southern suburbs

A man has been arrested after smashing windows of numerous cars and businesses in the Camden Park and Plympton area overnight.

About 2.30am on Friday 28 June, police were called to a fast-food restaurant on Anzac Highway, Camden Park after a man with a skateboard smashed a number of screens in the drive through area.

The man walked off and proceeded to smash numerous car windows and windows of other businesses as he walked through the back streets of the nearby area.

Police quickly responded and arrested the man on Park Terrace, Plympton Park.

A 23-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with more than 20 counts of property damage and refused police bail. He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Police have so far located incidents of property damage on the following streets -

  • Clifton Street
  • Creslin Terrace
  • Cross Road
  • Stonehouse Avenue
  • Belgrave Street
  • Lindsay Street
  • Macklin Street
  • South Terrace
  • Park Terrace

Anyone who lives in the vicinity and awakes to find damage to their property is asked to report it to police.
