Man loses licence after being caught speeding and drink-driving

A man has lost his licence after he was caught speeding and drink-driving at St Marys.

It will be alleged that about 12.39pm on Wednesday 1 January, police were conducting speed detection duties on Ayliffes Road when they detected a Toyota ute travelling at 74km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The driver, a 44-year-old man from Old Noarlunga returned a positive breath test reading of 0.159.

He was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He was reported for drink-driving and exceeding the speed limit and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
