Man rescued from creek bed at Hawthorndene

Police were called to Watahuna Avenue, Hawthorndene about 1am on Monday 21 April by reports a man was yelling and causing a disturbance in the street.

When patrols arrived, they found the man down a two-metre embankment in a creek bed.  He was unable to get out of the creek and was retrieved by SAAS Special Operations Team and CFS crews.

The 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
