Man stabbed during Hawthorn break-in

Police are investigating an incident at Hawthorn where a man was assaulted.

Just after 11am today (Friday 1 November), police and ambulance crews were called to a unit block in Egmont Terrace, after reports that a man had been stabbed by his neighbour, who had broken into the victim’s apartment armed with a knife.

The victim’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police searched the area but the male suspect was not located.

A 30-year-old Edwardstown man was arrested at the scene in relation to an active warrant. He was not involved in the break-in or assault.
