Shoplifters caught in the act by police

Three teenagers have been arrested after stealing alcohol from a store at Brighton.

It will be alleged that about 6.30pm on Monday 3 June, police saw a group of teenagers running away from the Brighton Road store after they had stolen bottles of alcohol.

Officers quickly arrested the trio, who had allegedly taken some four-packs of alcoholic drinks from the store.

One suspect is still being sought by police.

A 16-year-old girl from O’Sullivan Beach, and two 15-year-old boys from Maslin Beach and Aberfoyle Park were charged with theft.

The girl and Maslin Beach boy were bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 26 September, while the other boy did not apply for bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on Tuesday 4 June.

Anyone who witnessed the theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
