Two arrested after tyres spiked

It will be alleged that about 1.44am today (Wednesday 29 January), patrols spotted a black Honda sedan speeding south on Marion Road.

Checks revealed the vehicle was wanted in connection with several petrol thefts in the area.

The car then turned left on to Daws Road and then headed north on South Road, where road spikes were used to stop the car near Hare Street at Kurralta Park.

Police Dog Edge assisted the patrols to locate the driver, a 38-year-old man from Amata. He was charged with numerous offences including making off without payment, drive while disqualified and hinder police.

He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

A 23-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car was arrested and charged with breach of bail. She was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
