A man has been arrested over two early morning service station robberies in the southern suburbs today.
Just before 12.30am this morning (Wednesday 12 March), three men entered a service station on Goodwood Road, Clarence Park and demanded cash from the console operator.
One man who was allegedly armed with an axe, jumped the counter and stole cash and tobacco. All three men ran off and were last seen heading west on Cross Road.
Then just after 3am, two men entered a service station on Seacombe Road, Seaview Downs. One of the suspects threatened staff with an axe and stole cash from the till while the other man stole items from within the store.
The two men ran from the store and were last seen heading north on Seaforth Avenue.
Thankfully neither of the staff members involved in the incidents were injured.
As a result of investigations, Southern District CIB attended a Hawthorn home and arrested one of the suspects.
A 25-year-old man from Hawthorn has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. He has been refused bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.
