29 Dec 2024 4:54pm

A decommissioned missile launcher and a large amount of firearm parts have been seized by police after a search at South Plympton.

It will be alleged that on Saturday 28 December, police from the Southern District Volume Crime Section conducted a search of a property in Jervois Street after receiving information that stolen firearms were at the address.

Officers located an empty surface-to-air missile launcher, an empty dual carrier for missiles, a large amount of firearm parts including rifle barrels, magazines, firing pins and trigger assemblies.

Police also recovered multiple medals and a military backpack.

It will be alleged that the items had been stolen from another house in South Plympton.

A 55-year-old South Plympton man was charged with numerous offences including serious criminal trespass and theft.

He was refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday 30 December.
