A man was fined and lost his licence after he was caught speeding at Dry Creek in October.
About 3.30pm Sunday 3 October, a highway patrol officer was performing speed detection duties on the North – South motorway, when they detected a vehicle travelling at 189 km/h in a 110km/h zone.
The officer was able to safely stop the vehicle, a white Holden Commodore before speaking with the driver.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from Andrews Farm was reported for doing 79 km/h over the speed limit resulting in a $1997 fine and a loss of nine demerit points. His vehicle was impounded for six months, and his licence was disqualified for six months.
