26 Jul 2024 6:44am

A drink driver crashed his EV at Burnside overnight.

About 10.30pm Thursday 25 July emergency services were called to the roundabout at the intersection of Glynburn and Waterfall Terrace after reports a Tesla had left the road and crashed into a stobie pole.

When police arrived the spoke to the driver, a 39-year-old Campbeltown man, and submitted him to a breath test. The man allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.188 – almost four times the limit.

He was reported for drink driving and driving without due care and lost his licence on the spot for 12 months. His car was towed from the scene and he will be summonsed to court at a later date.
