A truck driver has been reported for driving dangerously after narrowly avoiding a head on crash in Ceduna last year.
In October 2024, a road train, loaded with 90 tonne of salt, travelling south on Murat Terrace, Ceduna, attempted to overtake another road train as it was approaching a sweeping right-hand bend.
The truck moves onto the incorrect side of the road as it enters the right-hand sweeping bend. Two vehicles travelling north on Murat Terrace are forced to steer into the parking lane to avoid a head on collision with the offending truck.
Ceduna Police investigated the incident, were able to view the incident on the truck dashcam and identified the offending truck and driver.
Police located and reported the truck driver, a 60-year-old man from Port Lincoln for driving in a manner dangerous to the public. He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and he will be summonsed to appear in Ceduna Magistrates Court at a later date.
