Drink driver crash at Davoren Park

A high range drink driver was caught at Davoren Park last night after crashing into his own house.

About 8.30pm Saturday 6 July police were called to Sissman Street after reports that a Nissan 4WD had crashed into a car that had been parked on the street and driven off.

When police arrived they found the Nissan a few doors down where it had driven into a driveway, seemingly in an attempt to park the car, but instead crashing into another car, the garage door and the house.

Police spoke to the driver, a 57-year-old man from the address, and submitted him to a breath test. He allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.237 – almost 5 times the limit.

The man was reported or driving without due care and drink driving. He lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
