16 Sep 2024 7:43am

An unlicensed driver has been caught drink driving in Lyndoch overnight.

Just after 1.10am Monday 16 September, police were travelling on Jollytown Road at Lyndoch when a gold Subaru caught their attention ahead, swerving in and out of the lane.

Patrols stopped the vehicle on Gilbert Street and had a conversation with the driver and submitted her to a breath test which returned a positive result of 0.184, nearly three times the limit.

Further checks revealed the driver was driving without a current licence.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman from Lyndoch was reported for drink driving and driving without a licence, issued a 12-month loss of licence and her vehicle was impounded.

She will be summonsed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
