Drivers caught in Murray Mallee

Seven people have been caught committing driving offences in the Murray Mallee region over the weekend.

On Friday 3 January, Murray Bridge Police have reported a 44-year-old man from Woods Point. It will be alleged that the man was stopped speeding in a motor vehicle on Jervois Road.  Checks on his licence revealed that he was disqualified from driving.  He will be summonsed to appear in Murray Bridge Court at a later date.

Tailem Bend Police reported a 22-year-old man from Tranmere. He was stopped whilst driving on Mallee Highway at Tailem Bend.  It will be alleged that he was disqualified from driving.  He had his vehicle impounded for 28 days and will be summonsed to appear in Murray Bridge Court at a later date.

On the same day Loxton Police reported a 37-year-old woman from Loxton, after she was caught driving whilst being disqualified.  Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days and she will be summonsed to appear in Berri Court at a later date.

On Saturday 4 January, Loxton police reported a 47-year-old man from Flagstaff Hill for driving whilst being disqualified.  Police stopped his car on Drabsch Street, Loxton.  He had his vehicle impounded for 28 days and will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On the same day Murray Mallee Police reported a 51-year-old man from Salisbury Downs.  It will be alleged that he was detected speeding along Sturt Highway at Blanchetown.  The driver was breath tested and he returned a positive reading of 0.123. He had his vehicle impounded for 28 days, he was issued with a six month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Sunday 5 January, Murray Mallee Police reported a 36-year-old man from Mannum.  Patrols stopped the man driving on Randell Road, Tungkillo and he returned a positive result for methamphetamine and cannabis.  He received a three-month instant loss of licence and may be summonsed to Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date pending forensic analysis.

On the same day, Murray Mallee Police reported a 55-year-old man from Lewiston.  He was detected driving at 127km/h in a 110km/h zone. He received an on the spot fine for $557 and accrued three demerit points.  He also returned a positive breath test of 0.087.  He was issued a six month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
