A woman has been arrested for drug offences after police stopped her driving in the southern suburbs this morning.

Just before 11am on Sunday 5 January, police spotted a white Mercedes Benz travelling on Selgar Avenue and stopped the car for a random driver test.

Patrols spoke with the driver and searched the vehicle where they located methamphetamine and prescription medication.

A search of the driver’s Mitchell Park home located methamphetamine, cannabis, fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia.

The driver, a 49-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with six counts of trafficking a controlled drug.  The woman did not apply for bail and she will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday 6 January.
