A man has been fined for travelling more than 40km/h over the speed limit in the Barossa earlier this morning.

Just after 0612hrs on Sunday 3 November, Gawler patrols were conducting speed detection duties on the Sturt Highway at Willaston when they detected a red Toyota Echo travelling at 157km/h in a 110km/h zone.

Police stopped the car and spoke with the driver, a 32-year-old man from Two Wells.  He was fined for speeding, the expiation worth $1997, he accrued nine demerit points and he was issued an immediate loss of licence for six months.
