Fine for teenage driver

21 Apr 2025 12:32pm

A teenage driver will be fined after losing control of a car causing it to crash in the northern suburbs this morning.

Just after 11.30am on Monday 21 April, patrols were called to Wilcox Road at Elizabeth after reports a car crashed into a tree in the front yard of a home and then caught alight.

Witnesses stated two occupants were seen running from the scene.

Fire crews were quickly on scene and extinguished the blaze which took hold of the engine in the Holden Calais sedan.

Patrols located the teenage occupants nearby on Short Road and they returned to the scene.  SAAS crews conveyed the 18-year-old boys to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The driver is expected to receive a fine for breaching his learner’s permit and other traffic offences.

The car was towed from the scene.
