Two men have been fined after being caught drug driving in the States Mid-North.

Just before 3.30pm on 8 December, Police were conducting speed detection duties on Copperhouse Road at Burra when they spotted a speeding yellow van.  The van was detected travelling at 77km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Hoyleton, was drug tested and returned a positive result for methamphetamine.  The man was issued a traffic infringement notice for speeding and drug driving totalling $1508.  He was also issued a three-month immediate loss of licence.

Just after 6pm on the same day, patrols were in Farrell Flat when they saw the same yellow van on the back of a white Isuzu tow truck.  Police stopped the truck and submitted the driver to a drug test where he returned a positive result for methamphetamine.

The 33-year-old man from Bute was issued a three-month immediate loss of licence and an expiation notice for $951.
