Northern suburbs drink driver

18 Jul 2024 6:44am

A P plater was caught drink driving at Elizabeth Grove last night.

About 8.15pm Wednesday 17 July, a concerned member of the public called to report they had seen a 4WD pulling out of a Football Club in Elizabeth South and they suspected the driver was intoxicated.

The caller was able to provide a registration number of the 4WD to police who attended the registered owners address. Patrols arrived at the Elizabeth Grove home the same time as the 4WD pulled into the driveway.

Here, they spoke to the driver, a 28-year-old man, and submitted him to a breath test, he allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.182. Further checks revealed the man only held a P licence.

He was reported for drink driving and breach of P licence conditions. He lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and his can was towed from the scene and impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
