Pedestrian hit by car at Edwardstown

A pedestrian has been struck by a car at Edwardstown last night.

Just before 11.15pm on Tuesday 21 January, emergency services were called to South Road near to Castle Plaza after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a silver Mazda sedan.

The man, a 39 -year-old from Hackham West was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mazda, a 56-year-old man from Hallett Cove was not injured.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene to examine the circumstances of the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The road was closed and reopened just before 4am.
