12 Mar 2025 8:55am

A man has died following a crash at Clearview on Monday night.

Just after 10pm on Monday 10 March, emergency services were called to Hampstead Road after reports a Toyota sedan struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a 62-year-old man from Clearview, suffered critical injuries and was rushed to hospital. Sadly, he died as a result of those injuries late last night.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene, and the vehicle was seized for forensic examination.

Investigators arrested the driver that evening, a 24-year-old man from Northfield, and charged him with causing serious harm by careless use of a vehicle. Those charges have now been upgraded to careless driving causing death.

He will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 2 May.

There have been 21 lives lost on SA roads this year.
