Update - Vision of hit-run vehicle released

Major Crash Investigators have released vision of the vehicle involved in the hit-run fatal crash at Elizabeth East yesterday.

About 4.40am on Tuesday 14 January, police were called to Kinkaid Road after reports a woman was struck by a car and the driver allegedly failed to stop at the scene.

A 40-year-old woman from the far north sustained serious injuries and sadly died at the scene

Major Crash Investigators attended and examined the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigators have now been able to identify the suspect vehicle as a white/light coloured Toyota Prado – 120 series – with a spare wheel fitted to the rear door of the vehicle. It is believed to have a damaged left front passengers’ door and side mirror, and damage to the left front guard.

Investigators are urging the driver of the vehicle to make contact with Major Crash Officers to assist in the investigation.

Members of the public who see a vehicle matching this description are asked to call the police assistance line on 131 444.

Police are also seeking the assistance of any crash repairers who may have anyone present with a vehicle of that description and crash damage.

The woman’s death is the 3rd life lost on SA roads this year.
