Update - Witnesses sought in fatal Penfield crash

Major Crash Investigators are seeking witnesses to a fatal crash at Penfield yesterday morning.

Just before 10am on Thursday 11 July, a white Ford panel van was travelling in an easterly direction along Bellchambers Road when it crashed into a stobie pole.

Sadly, the driver and sole occupant, a 71-year-old local man died at the scene.

During the investigation, police have identified that a grey coloured SUV was travelling west along Bellchambers Road at the time of the collision.

This vehicle is not considered to be involved in the crash in any way, however police would like to speak with the driver as they may be able to provide information that can assist in the investigation. Police are urging the driver to come forward.

The man’s death was the 48th life lost on SA road’s this year.
