Roads reopen after serious crash at Joanna

Roads have reopened after a serious crash in the State’s South East.

About 9.30am on Thursday 18 July, emergency services were called to the Riddoch Highway, Joanna, just south of Naracoorte after reports a car and a truck had collided head on.

The driver of the truck, a 59-year-old Limestone Coast man sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Two of the three occupants of the car, a 28-year-old Naracoorte woman and 4-year-old boy, sustained life-threatening injuries and have been rushed to hospital.  A third occupant, an 8-year-old girl miraculously escaped serious injury.

The Riddoch Highway was closed for most of the day but has since reopened.

Major Crash Investigators and officers from the Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section are investigating the collision.
