A man has been reported after being caught driving more than 40km/h over the speed limit and committing numerous other traffic offences.
Just before 4pm on Wednesday 12 March, police were conducting speed detection duties on Lower North East Road at Highbury when they clocked a Subaru Impreza sedan travelling at a speed of 107km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Patrols stopped the sedan and had a conversation with the driver, a 43-year-old man from Willaston. Checks revealed the man was disqualified from driving and the car had been previously defected. The sedan was also unregistered and uninsured.
The driver submitted to a drug test and provided a positive result. He was reported for speeding, driving whilst being disqualified, drug driving, driving contrary to defect, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle. He was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence and his car was impounded for 28 days. The man will be summonsed to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
