Speeding rider nabbed at Highbury

29 Apr 2025 6:37pm

A man has lost his licence after being caught riding his motorcycle almost 60km/h over the speed limit.

Around 2pm on Tuesday 29 April, Holden Hill patrols detected a Harley Davidson motorcycle riding on Lower North East Road at 119km/h in a 60km/h zone.  Police stopped and spoke to the rider and requested he submit to a breath test, however the man refused to comply with a breath analysis.

The rider, a 55-year-old-man from Banksia Park, was reported for driving at an extreme speed and refusing to comply with a breath analysis.  He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date. His licence was disqualified on-the-spot for 12 months and his motorcycle impounded for 28 days.
