Speedster cops hefty fine

A provisional licenced driver has been clocked travelling more than 40km/h over the speed limit in the state’s north.

Just after 3pm on Thursday 12 September, Woomera Police were performing mobile radar duties on the Olympic Dam Highway at Arcoona when they detected a car travelling at 152km/h in a 110km/h zone.

Police stopped the blue Ford sedan and spoke with the driver, a 20-year-old woman from Roxby Downs.

The woman was issued an expiation notice for exceeding the speed limit and breaching a provisional licence condition, totalling $2,527.  She was also issued a six-month immediate loss of licence.
