Street Racers at Whyalla Barson

Two drivers have been reported for street racing after being stopped at Whyalla Barson last night.

Just after 7.30pm on Friday 14 June, police from Eyre Western Highway Patrol were on Industry Drive when they spotted a Ford sedan and a Holden station wagon engaged in a high-speed street race.

It will be alleged that the cars travelled at speeds between 115 and 122kph.

The vehicles were stopped, and the drivers interviewed.

The two male drivers ,aged 17 and 18, both from Whyalla Stuart were reported for aggravated extreme speed and street racing.

They were issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and their vehicles were impounded for 28 days.

Both men will be summoned to attend court at a later date.
