Vehicle sought after girl struck at Hendon

10 Feb 2025 9:47pm

Police are seeking witnesses after a girl was hit by a car at Hendon this afternoon.

About 4.30pm Monday 10 February, a teenage girl had crossed from the eastern side of West Lakes Boulevard and was standing on the median strip waiting for traffic to pass.

At this time, a woman driving a KIA SUV travelling in a north westerly direction on West Lakes Boulevard allegedly mounted the median strip and struck the girl.

The 13-year-old girl sustained a fractured pelvis and lacerations to her leg and head. She was taken to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The female driver stopped the vehicle following the crash, however left the scene shortly after and failed to provide any assistance to the injured girl.

The vehicle involved is an orange KIA SUV with roof racks (similar to the one pictured) and has a damaged driver's side mirror following the collision.

Police are seeking any information that may identify the vehicle and driver involved in the crash. Investigators are also seeking witnesses who may have captured the vehicle on dashcam or CCTV footage and urge them to contact police.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000. You can remain anonymous.
